BIONICON | FAQs

BIONICON AeroLink System can’t be adjusted (fork travel can’t be reduced)

Connecting valve between positive and negative chamber isn’t shut. The system was closed without adjusting into downhill position. Also see system adjustment

Loss of pressure in the system

Check that the hose connections are air tight using a solution of water and soap. Air bubbles will appear at any position where air is leaking. Tighten any connectors where air is leaking using two 7mm ring spanners. If the connection continues to lose pressure replace the connector.

Fork will not extend

Carry out set-up.

Fork is extremely unresponsive.

Too much friction between wiper seal and stanchion. Restore lubricant film using Bionicon Never Stick oil, have fork serviced, check system pressure.

Creaking noise at the rear shock mounting point (whilst riding).

Bolts need tightening. Release bolts, apply grease to the threads and re-install. Check connection between rear shock and adapter, tighten if necessary.

Knocking noise in the headset bearing especially when noticeable when braking or riding downhill.

Headset bearings need tightening, use Bionicon F.I.T tool to adjust bearing tension.

Creaking noise in the bottom bracket area.

Insufficient grease on the splined crank axle connection or bearing cup threads. Crank arms insufficiently tight. Check main pivot bearing and lube if necessary. For Ironwood and Supershuttle check swingarm brace tube, apply grease to bolt threads, check rear wheel quick release.

Creaking noise in the steering area

Apply lubricant film to stem clamps using copper paste, grease bolt threads, check fork crown bolts for correct torque.
