Product recall of cartridge fastening bolts for all BIONICON Double Agent forks produced from 2008-2009

In the course of our regular product control we have unfortunately noticed that some cartridge fastening bolts used for production of Double Agent & Double Agent TA forks are of inferior quality. This can pose a risk to the users of our products.
For this reason we are requesting that all owners of a BIONICON full suspension bicycle purchased from 1.6.2008 to 31.12.2009 contact their retailer immediately in order to have the bolts replaced.
The affected bolts were manufactured from an incorrect material which is too hard. If subjected to non-uniform stress the bolts can shear due to the hardness of the material. The bolts are simple to replace, this can be undertaken either by a BIONICON dealer by the owner.

22nd Annual Keyesville Classic

For 22 years, the Keyesville Classic has drawn casual riders, pro mountain bike racers and their friends and families to participate in a fun-filled weekend of bike-related events and activities. From the entertaining Vintage class and trials events to the highly challenging Bionicon All-Mountain Stage Race where riders tackle the Short Track, Cross-Country and Downhill courses all on the same bike, the Keyesville Classic has something for everyone, riders and spectators alike.

Every year, the Keyesville Classic brings together local riders, advocacy groups and racers from all over the West Coast to raise awareness and generate contributions for trail stewardship in the Kern River Valley, and southern California. Up until last year, the Southern Sierra Fat Tire Association (SSFTA) in Bakersfield ran the event, and at one point it was the largest race on the west coast. Bionicon now directs the event with support from the SSFTA from their recently reopened headquarters in Kernville, having overcome the loss of their brand new demo center in Wofford Heights to fire in mid-September.

BIONICON.COM Relaunch

It’s done!

Following a long, work intensive period we’d like to present our completely new internet presence. There isn’t much left of the ‘old’ version, extensive operations were necessary and now BIONICON.com is a completely new beast.

It isn’t just the products which have been up-dated, a whole host of new features await the user.

In the section „about us“ you’ll find everything you need to know about BIONICON, the pioneer of adjustable suspension travel, from the past to the present.

The products are organised into the areas "Backcountry Mountainbikes", "Urban Bikes", "Riding Wear" and "accessories". So you’ll be able to find what you’re looking for quickly and directly. The "Service" area contains many of the new features, including the new dealer search function which has been given an extensive overhaul. We haven’t finished everything though, so we will continue to update and improve content.

"And why the whole bother? No need to panic, we will continue to be THE bike manufacturer with the best old fashioned service and human face. We want to help you find the right bike but also to tell some entertaining stories. So your feedback is important to us. Send us an email to: service@bionicon.com. Tell us what you like, or what we need to improve or change. Every email which we receive up until 18th April 2010 (positive or negative!) will be entered into a a prize draw with BIONICON T-Shirts for 10 lucky winners. So don’t forget to tell us your email address and size.

So, last but not least enjoy the new homepage and if you fancy trying out a new BIONICON bike check out the events where we are attending in the “calendar” section.

The BIONICON Team.

Bboxx 2008 – 2010

Durability, weight, functionality and design can only be achieved through mass production, which means investing a serious amount of money in tooling. This is exactly our plan!, But are also very aware that for a company of our size the amount of money involved: 150.000 to 200.000 € needs to carefully invested with the right partner. This is where we currently are at the moment.

In a nutshell: the Bboxx is at a stage of technical evaluation prior to starting series production. Before we take the next step a suitable production partner must be found. We don’t know how long this process will take, but trust us, we’d love to be ripping the local trails with our Bboxxes! Good things take a while...

Life is not always easy but if it would be easy everybody could do things like a Bboxx ;-)
